On May 12, 2008, Wenchuan earthquake measured 8.0 on the Richter scale jolted China. The original Land of Abundance has been ruined and devastated in a few minutes. Sichuan province was in emergency expecting assistance. The staff and management of ChinaNetCenter donated with their blessings hoping to help the people there.

While donating on the official website of China Charity on May 14, some our staff found there was no response, even the next day. At the moment ChinaNetCenter acknowledged the problem that sudden increasing visits caused traffic congestion. In accordance with the social responsibility and CDN technology advantages, ChinaNetCenter decided to solve the problem without any payment. After communication with China Charity, CDNOC (CDN Operation Center) of ChinaNetCenter began to accelerate the website on May 16, so as to build expressway for donations. With 18-hour’s intensive work and tests, www.chinacharity.cn was able to work well—it is pride for ChinaNetCenter to do something useful for the people suffered in the disaster with its advantages.

Sichuan Great Earthquake was a nightmare, however love will lighten the darkness whatever you have contributed to the disaster area.
